Pleurobranchus membranaceus (Montagu, 1815)

 

11 June, 2004.
Badluchrach Jetty, Little Loch Broom on the west coast.
This beautiful egg mass, approx. 125mm in dia and height, was one of many found during the dive here at 14 metres. There were many large, 80mm, animals seen. The water temperature was 12°C. At another site nearby the next day further examples of spawn were found at similar depths and more animals of similar size at another site.
