Tritonia hombergii Cuvier, 1803

The reef at South Gortein, Loch Fyne on the west coast.
At 16 metre depth this 110 mm long individual was found crawling down
the reef face over and among the brittlestars - Ophiothrix fragilis
and Ophiocomina nigra. The top of this reef area is profusely
covered with Plumose anenome - Metridium senile and a few Dead
man's fingers - Alcyonium digitatum. The slide was taken on Fuji
Provia with a Nikon N90SX with 60 mm micro in a Subal housing, lit with
a Nikon SB26 flash in a Seacam housing and a Nikon SB 105 in slave mode
on full power with diffuser. |
