Tritonia hombergii Cuvier, 1803
April 2000.
At 16 metres on the reef at South Gortein, Loch Fyne on the west coast.
This 110 mm long individual was found crawling down the reef face over
and among the brittlestars - Ophiothrix fragilis and Ophiocomina
nigra. The top of this reef area is profusely covered with Plumose
anenome - Metridium senile and a few Dead man's fingers - Alcyonium
digitatum.
The slide was taken on Fuji Provia with a Nikon N90SX with 60 mm micro
in a Subal housing, lit with a Nikon SB26 flsash in a Seacam housing and
a Nikon SB 105 in slave mode on full power with diffuser. |
